Candy Art
Candy Art provides a unique source of edible entertainment for children and adults alike. Think of it as being similar to balloon twisting... yet made with candy! Our candy artists will be there when your guests line up to take requests for whatever kind of shape, animal or form they can dream of! Guests have requested creations such as a rabbits, dolphins, dragons, hearts, stars, monogrammed names, etc.
Once the design is choosen the candy is crafted right before their eyes, turning a plain piece of candy into an intricate and delicious design.
We accomplish this by manipulating heated and slightly melted candy, streamed and pulled in a constant line on a marble slab, into the guests desired design.
In the West we call it 'Candy Art'. In China it is known as 'Amezaiku', a 100 year old street art that could be seen all over China, until recently... now there is only a handful or artists around the world that perform the art of Amezaiku.
After we stream the candy into a shape on the marble slab and we are happy with our design we tap in a wooden stick and gently lift the candy off the marble. The candy is then hung upside down to cool and harden quickly. When the design has cured (less than 30 secs) we put the stick candy in a plastic bag to give to the eagerly awaiting guest, ready to be eaten.
Typically, a crowd will gather around to watch us make the candy, staring in amazement as a plain piece of candy is artistically sculpted, swirled and streamed into unique shapes, animals and designs.
It takes about 3-5 minutes per design from beginning to end. More intricate ones may require slightly more time. Typically the flavour cast into our candy is Cherry.
We are 1 of 4 Candy Artists in North America and the only one in Canada.
